Jordan boardwalk or Ami trail

A beautiful, fully accessible trail along the Jordan River.

If you are ever in the north of Israel, check out Ami Trail. This beautiful promenade between Sde Nehemia and Kfar Blum is wheelchair-user heaven.
(For wheelchair users, the Kfar Blum entrance is way friendlier)

The trail was built in 1994 in memory of a high school student, Ami Peled, who was hit while riding his bicycle. Plaques with verses from the Bible mentioning the Jordan river are fixed along the boardwalk.

There are several (quite steep) ramps if you want to descend from the paved path and approach the riverbank, but it’s worth it!

The trail is about 1.5 km long, free of charge, and smooth to roll on in a wheelchair.
