Roll With A Smile

RollWithASmile is a travel blog focusing on accessible destinations and self-planned trips. As a full-time wheelchair user, I travel with a companion in an electric, collapsible wheelchair. My passion is to provide reliable and free accessibility information. If you are a traveler who prefers planning your own trips and itineraries, follow along for inspiration and valuable tips!

A little about me

I am Tali, a lover of travel and adventure. In the last 15 years, I’ve been living with FSHD (a form of Muscular Dystrophy). As my muscles weakened and my body’s needs changed, traveling became more and more challenging. There were falls, injuries, shame in asking for help or accommodations, constant anxiety and fear. Five years ago, I became a full-time wheelchair user. Many would think it to be the end of the road, but for me, it was regaining  freedom and finding a way back to my love of travel. Unfortunately, I also learned that there was very little reliable accessibility information for the disabled traveler.

In this blog, I want to touch on two main subjects. First is my love of travel both in my home country of Israel and overseas. I will share my tips and experiences as a wheelchair traveler in hopes of encouraging others to give it a try. Second is my most significant challenge – disability life and everything it encompasses.

Discover Accessible Israel

With its rich historical sites and varied landscapes, tiny Israel offers something for every traveler. Over the past years, I have been exploring my beautiful country in a wheelchair. While there’s still plenty of room for improvement, more and more places are becoming wheelchair accessible and enjoyable. Here are a few of them. I hope to see you in Israel!
