Parking – A couple of accessible parking spaces are available, but the parking lot is small, gets very crowded, and the accessible spaces get occupied fast.
Room – The room is simple but spacious and accessible, with a small kitchenette, a sofa bed, and a double bed. The bed isn’t raised, and it’s impossible to use a hoist if you need one.
The bathroom – The biggest accessibility challenges were with the bathroom:
1. The door opens into the bathroom and blocks the toilet. For me to use the toilet, I had to roll into the shower first to allow for the door to close, and only then I could access the toilet.
2. No shower chair/bench. Instead, there was a plastic garden chair that worked for me but could be dangerous and unstable for independent transferrers.
3. The mirror is high above the sink! Ugh
There are grab bars in the shower and next to the toilet.
Public areas – The paths throughout the hotel are mostly smooth, but not all hotel areas are accessible for wheelchair users. I haven’t visited the dining area since we stayed during Covid times and our meals were brought to the room.
To summarize – A budget hotel, very conveniently located for visiting Golan Heights and Mount Hermon.
Very basic amenities, but perfect location.
Overall, it’s doable, but even for a budget hotel, the accessibility should be better.
